About the Commission
The Commission on Women and Gender in History of Science, Technology and Medicine is an international commission of the Division of History of Science and Technology (DHST) of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPST). The Commission was founded in 1981 during the 16th International Congress of History of Science held in Bucharest, Romania. Dedicated to encouraging and supporting historical research that analyses disciplinary fields in science, technology, medicine and allied fields through a gendered perspective, the Commission promotes exchange among scholars through a listserv, social media, international conferences, and research fellowships.
