Officers

The Commission’s governing body consists of the following offices that carry terms of four years, typically beginning and ending with dates coterminous with the congresses of the Division of History of Science and Technology (DHST):

  1. President. Appointed by the DHST General Assembly based on a proposal from the Commission; a governing officer of the Commission with primary responsibility to call and preside over meetings of the Commission. The President is the Commission’s primary liaison to the DHST.
  2. Vice President. Appointed by the Commission; a governing officer of the Commission who may be called upon to serve as President at times when the President is unavailable or incapacitated.
  3. Secretary. Appointed by the Commission; a governing officer of the Commission who keeps records, takes meeting minutes, and assists in compiling the Commission’s annual report to the DHST..
  4. Treasurer. Appointed by the Commission; a governing officer of the Commission with responsibility for conducting the financial activities of the Commission, completing and filing its financial reports, and liaising with the DHST on budgetary affairs.
  5. Communications Officer. Appointed by the Commission; a governing officer of the Commission with responsibility for the Commission’s communications and media, including the website.
  6. Past President. The immediate former President of the Commission.
